What is Coaching with Jennifer Like?

Coaching is greatly misunderstood! First, here is what a Coach is not:

  • A consultant or advisor who shares a solution to a problem 
  • A mentor who guides a novice along a similar path
  • A teacher who imparts knowledge
  • A counsellor who helps heal psychological wounds


What is Coaching?

Coaching provides the space to think, increase awareness, find new perspectives, plan for the future, and activate towards defined goals. Coaching can be beneficial for any person, no matter the age, profession, seniority, or life experience. 


Here are some ways Coaching helps:

  • If you are stuck in a rut
  • If your head is butting against a glass ceiling at work
  • If you do not have the partnership or relationships that you want
  • If you are navigating life transitions
  • If you need support and accountability to make changes 


Goal-Directed Coaching:

In these ways shared above, a Coaching engagement can be s a short or medium-term intervention, with a specific outcome in mind. Depending on the timescale needed to reach a goal such as a promotion at work, this would determine how long the Coaching arrangement should last. Of course, the success of this kind of Coaching is easy to measure!


Performance Coaching:

In another Coaching format, the intention is more about establishing healthy conditions, mindset, and behaviours to operate at peak performance. These Coaching arrangements are less likely to have one explicit goal, and have no particular end-date. A common scenario for this type of Coaching is with Executives and Senior Leaders at an organization. 


For those in high pressure roles, with too many meetings and scarcely time for lunch, regular Coaching provides the much needed break and safe space to think, re-center, and prioritize, enabling them to operate from a higher perspective, more consciously and strategically.


How does Jennifer help?

Each person has a unique life experience, perspective and requirement out of the Coaching arrangement. Jennifer's experience spans internationally, and she has demonstrated success in supporting a rich diversity of clients from different cultures, every generation, and professionally, ranging from entry-level to middle management, director, executive and c-suites. 


Jennifer seamlessly integrates multiple Coaching methodologies to deliver personalized, bespoke Coaching engagements in order to best serve the client. She leverages her FLOAT coaching model for goal-directed interventions, and leans towards the Pure style of Coaching for Performance Coaching, as well as flexing other modalities as needed. 


What's common for every Coaching engagement with Jennifer is an underlying supportive, safe space, with a buoyant, uplifting energy. From here, the client is challenged to become a greater version of themselves, and to activate towards their personal, meaningful goals.

The FLOAT Coaching Model

FOCUS

You'll become aware of what needs to change. There may be multiple areas of concern or a glaringly obvious one. You'll have access to my Life Pillars Worksheet to define your personal life categories, which serve as a basis to frame the goals of our coaching engagement.

After decades of study, healing, practice, and learning, I now live what I call an Integrated life. In an Integrated life, all parts are interconnected and inseparable. Heaviness in one area can sink the whole. And amazingly, lightness in one area can buoy all others. 


I developed the FLOAT Coaching methodology which teaches you how to float in a deliberate, conscious way. 


If you've been sinking, or barely treading water, we'll learn to become light in order to float. Once we're safe, on the surface, we'll work to stabilize our buoyancy. From there, we're able to play in the waves or surf. And if you're like me, next we'll take to the skies and soar.  


Here's how it works:

LEVEL SET

We'll define and measure today's baseline. You can check-in with or re-define your personal mission and values through my Personal Foundations Worksheets. These personally-defined measures will be used during our Coaching engagement to assess progress and re-orient trajectory as needed. 

OPPORTUNITY

Is the gap between where you are and where you want to go. You'll envision a big goal and other objectives supported by my 10-Year Vision Worksheet. I'll challenge you to examine what could get in the way and use new awareness to formulate grounded yet ambitious plans, supported by my SMART-ER Goal Setting Worksheet. 

ACTION

You're more self-aware, clear on your vision, with meaningful, actionable goals. Now, you act. Yet even the best laid plans can fail, and Coach is here to help. I'll support you with the accountability of cementing new behaviours and surpassing measurable check-points towards that new Opportunity or big goal. 

TAKE MEASURE

FAIL means first attempt in learning. When speed bumps and barriers pop up, I'll support you to iterate or re-calibrate towards your goals. We regularly reflect upon, measure and acknowledge our progress. The only real failure would be letting that Opportunity for a more aligned, greater life, fall to the wayside.
